jean ro bistro

i have very little to say other than EAT THERE IMMEDIATELY. everything was perfect: the menus (both food and wine), the actual food and wine themselves, the service, the ambience, the prices. matt and i went a couple weeks ago while he was here on his crazy bike ride across the country in order to try to relive our le sans souci days in astoria and we were absolutely in love with the place.

matt's duck ($23) was perfectly medium rare, tender, and the sauce was delicious.

i got the mussels ($15) which were not sandy (a surprisingly common and easily avoidable phenomenon) and were cooked in a perfect white wine/butter/garlic sauce, and came with delicious fries (totally insignificant complaint: they were a little thicker than i would have ideally liked). matt picked the wine (approx $30) and i can't remember anything about it other than that it was red, french, and delicious.

matt's eating up until that point in his riding his bike across the country mainly consisted of protein bars, chocolate milk, and roadkill, but he is one of the most discerning french food connoisseurs i know so you should have full faith in his rating of jean ro bistro.

anyway, as i said, you totally have to eat there as soon as possible. definitely one of the best restaurants i've been to in cincinnati and the prices are very reasonable.
