ok, so this is probably really an overly discussed topic lately but i am an aglamesis fan. as i mentioned a few months ago, aglamesis is one of my happy places. i just go in there and feel completely calm and happy. i am crazy for their sundaes and the old school pink and white interior and the pretty candy displays.
(note for non-cincinnati readers: graeters and aglamesis are the two local ice cream chains which people argue over)
so of course i have always thought that i liked their ice cream better than graeters. however most people tell me that, in fact, it is NOT better, and that i am just being tricked by the sundaes (which, i don't care what you say, ARE better since you can get fresh whipped cream mixed with fruits and you just can't beat that).
at this point, i am confused and really do not know which i like better since... it is coconut ice cream month at graters. yay! i love coconut ice cream and i had some tonight and it was awesome. back in july i got some of their peach and that was delicious too.
my problem is that i hate chips/chunks/etc. in my ice cream, and that is like the graeters trademark. i think that might be my biggest problem with them. also they do not have a very good black cherry, and normally black cherry is my favorite flavor. well that or rum raisin, but that is pretty much a nonexistent flavor option here in cincinnati.
reader poll: which place do you like better? and is there some other secret yummy cincinnati ice cream that i'm missing out on?

i like aglamesis' sundaes better. and their old timey oakley location is too cool.

Between Graeter's and Aglamesis, I really don't have a fav. Graeter's has their apple cider sorbet now, so they're getting my business for the time being!

Yeah... I hate the chips and chunks too. I thought I was the only person in Cincinnati who didn't like black raspberry chip!
I love Aglamesis but I like some of Graeter's other flavors (pumpkin, peach). So other than the chip issue, I'll take either.

ok so they're not but I love them because of the big hunks of choc. chips in my black raspberry chip ice cream.
i haven't tried the sundaes at algamesis- so I can't say I don't like them yet but their ice cream doesn't have big hunks of chips in it.
Graeter's ice cream tastes better---Aglemesis is too icy...BUT, Aglemesis chocolate is better. BTW, I don't like the chips in the black raspberry either, so I called the factory and had them make a batch WITHOUT the chips----so good!
Agreed! Aglamesis is better.. Having had both within the past week, I can qualitatively say that aglamesis is better. Both are to be enjoyed, though! Claireeatstheworld.blogspot.com
