lulu's noodle and rice shop

shortest review ever... i am about to run to my japanese class. i just wanted to let you all know that lulu's is totally average and you should not make the trip out to springdale for it if you don't live there. i had heard about this place (i think on the internet somewhere) and i thought it was going to be amazingly awesome and it was not.

however, if you do live out that way and you want some cheap chinese or noodles, it's slightly better than most takeout places so i would go there in that case. downside: they charge you 6% extra to use a credit card. boo!

ok, time to go to class. さようなら!

THANK YOU.

I've been saying it for years.

OTOH, I know a Taiwanese woman who loves LuLu's and drives from Clifton regularly.

And what the hell are you taking Japanese lessons for?

I like Lulu's pad thai (which is not really pad thai, but that's OK, I like it anyway) and crab rangoon. I haven't had it in AGES, however, as I am never in Springdale. I wonder if the quality has fallen recently?

i am taking japanese just for fun! i like learning languages and the class was on monday nights which worked for me. i really wanted to do arabic but it did not fit w/ my schedule. also i just like taking random classes in general. over the summer i did golf. i think next i will do either drawing or tennis.

i did not try the pad thai so maybe that is really good. i had the hai fun which was pretty bland. my friend had basil sauce with rice vermicelli which was more exciting than mine but still not that exciting overall.

If you're looking for spicy pad thai, Liz, you won't find it here. Theirs is sort of bland. Come to think of it, everything I've gotten (I don't lean towards the spicy) can be a bit on the bland side.

I'd rather go to King Wok, but in a pinch, LuLu's will do.

I wholeheartedly endorse taking classes for fun and self-improvement. You're probably just trying to meet a guy but it does sound better this way.

Drawing: wait until retirement/invalidity.

Tennis: ASAP.

re: asian food... try Doodles in Hyde Park or Mekong Thai in Kenwood.

LuLu's was my favorite for many years (esp the Pad Thai, which I agree isn't "real" but was tasty). But the past 2 times we've gotten food from there we've had food of questionable taste/quality. We had to throw out an entire dish because it seriously tasted like dirt. It'll be a while before I go back there.

i am really that nerdy that i like learning languages for fun! however if there were cute boys in my class i would not turn down the opportunity to practice my konnichiwas. but there aren't, it's all girls.

i like mekong and do not like doodles.

i'm sad to hear that lulu's has gone downhill. maybe they're just having temporary issues.

Liz, I took a year of Japanese before I went there as an exchange student and the phrase that served me best was "oishii desu, ne?" ("Delicious, isn't it?")

My professor taught the phrase as "oishii desho" - but once I was there my Japanese girlfriends said the more familiar phrase was the first one.
