it's a cave cricket! ewwww.
Ewww. I've had them in my house too. (Oakley) Smack them with the broom. They freak me out too much to get any closer than that, plus the broom.
I hate those things... blech.
vacuum
Thanks for the shout out :) I feel special! I had those disgusting bugs in my house in college. They can jump pretty high too!
Hey there - Great meeting you at the party last night!! Too bad our raffle tickets didn't get us any winnings.
Looking forward to checking out your blog!
It was so great meeting you Liz. I am glad you had a good time. We all need to get out and get together more often!
well the update is that i just left it alone overnight and now it is gone. i am really hoping that it found its way out but if it knew about this snowstorm, i am guessing it just decided to hide in one of my shoes or something nasty. vacuum would have been a good idea but seriously it was so damn big i am scared it may have clogged the vacuum. bleah!
oh man, i hate (HATE) cave crickets. for one, i hate spiders, and they look like big spiders, and two, they JUMP! and it's almost like they know you don't like them, because if you swing at it and miss, they jump AT you. *shudder*
one thing that's cool though? if you have a cat, they loooove to hunt/kill them (and sometimes eat them), thus eliminating the need to actually kill them yourself (and possibly clean up their dead carcasses as well). so if you don't have a cat, i'd suggest getting one as a personal Cave Cricket Killer.
For these occassions, I have Raid, because I'm a coward.
It was cool meeting you last night, still hung over though, hope I wasn't talking to you at the top of my lungs.
We've had crickets, you wouldn't believe how long those bastids live.
hairspray. i've used it to kill spiders, crickets, many-legged crawling things.
you realize since you left it alone overnight it is now hiding somewhere (as you suspected) and waiting for the opportunity to sneak up on you in the shower.
Was spectacular meeting you, too, Liz!
We need to plan a foodie adventure, perhaps after the holidays?
And when are you gonna get on twitter? :)
ok, so i signed up for twitter but now i have no idea what to do!
re: foodie adventure in jan, that sounds great!
It was so great meeting you Liz! Look forward to seeing you at future events around town.
