i am busy though and have not had time. i have still been eating a lot. i hear that people like posts where i just put up pictures of food. here is a picture of chirashi i had at mr. sushi a couple weeks ago.
it was really good. i read some mixed reviews of that place but i am a fan. you can get this huge chirashi at lunch for $13. the fish is super fresh and delicious and the service was good. awesome.
i (and all of my friends) continue to eat at shaan a lot. some of them go once a week. it is awesome and i love the owner, darminder. if you go there he will remember you and what you ate and where you live and work and everything. it seems kind of stalkerish but he is just a nice person who loves customer service. i also found out that he has a secret chart where he keeps all this information and does not have a photographic memory like he pretends. hopefully he does not read my blog or he will kick my ass for posting this. also one time beth f. asked him to make us a special goat meal because goat is not on the menu and he did. we all came and ate goat curry and it was delicious.
besides the excellent customer service, shaan has the best indian food in cincinnati. yes, i said it. it is fresh, flavorful, and not dripping in oil or butter. the lamb is the tenderest you can find. the chicken is juicy. the vegetables are fresh and crisp and not overcooked. if you are not eating there you are wasting your money.
special for t.j. jackson: i have been eating at bangkok express. this is the former location of tan thai which i hated. t.j., you are right. bangkok express is delicious and a huge improvement. rickell will not eat there because once when we first went after it became bangkok express, we saw a roach running up the wall. one roach is not enough to scare me off and i have never seen another one so i think it is fine and they dealt with the problem. service is great. if you want delicious, cheap, authentic thai food you should go there.
a good place you should go if you are up in westchester: aladdin's eatery. so yummy. creative menu, excellent ingredients, informed and super friendly staff. also it is definitely authentic. i heard a rumor that they are going to be opening a location in clifton so that is really exciting for us non-suburbanites.
that is all i have to say for now. i will leave you waiting anxiously at your computer screens until the next time.

Glad to hear you gave Bangkok Express another chance. I honestly don't think it is nearly as good as Tan Thai was at its peak, but it is definitely far better than Tan Thai at the end.
Also - Raya's is finally getting some customers. After your writeup, I went and fell in love with the falafel, and then "what I Ate this Week' did the same. The word is getting out - the place just gets busier every time I visit.
Finally - Have you had the build your own pasta bowl at Bouchard's yet?
i just had the pasta bowl today per your recommendation! it was awesome. al dente pasta, really good marinara, fresh delicious vegetables, tender flavorful meats. i loved it and will definitely be back.
*laff*
Actually, I was asking for your opinion - I have never been there myself, but I knew it was fairly near your workplace (in other posts, you've indicate proximity to Arnolds, for example)
I figured you had been there by now :-)
In any case, based on YOUR recommendation, I will have to get over there soon :-)
I cannot however thank you enough for recommending Raya's falafel - it's a regular once a week stop for me now, and before then, I really didnt like falafel much.
haha, that's hilarious. i have actually been to bouchard's a few times. their other food is good too. i thought i put it in a post a few weeks ago but i must have forgotten.
re: raya's, i am really glad you like it. i actually went a few weeks ago and i think they were having an off day b/c it wasn't that good. but i don't want to talk trash, i think they are good for the most part. and definitely way better than anywhere else downtown.
