a short post to quench the thirst of the masses while i contemplate trying to upload pictures of delicious meals at jean ro bistro and assorted exciting NYC restaurants via my slow as fuck stolen internet connection.
in order...
1. wild oats (if it is fresh)
2. HP bigg's (and this is #1 if wild oats is not fresh)
3. trader joe's
4. HP kroger
and those my friends are the only grocery stores i know of selling sushi in this city.
professional tip: avoid the brown rice sushi... too dry and they don't sushify it w/ sugar and rice vinegar.

our kroger's (lebanon) sells sushi. i don't eat sushi (or fish) but my husband bought some awhile back and pronounced it "ok." there you have it.
that is a good tip! that reminds me that i did actually try the sushi at the HP kroger's and it was terrible. i will add it to the list.
try party source in bellevue. GREAT sushi.
the sushi at trader joe's BLOWS. sticky rice in the way that god NEVER intended rice to be sticky. (and yes, i've eaten REAL sticky rice!).i tried it once and thot it was a fluke. the second time, i vowed, never again. my quick snack at TJs: the turkey, cheese and granny smith apple slice sandwich. yum.
Any comment on Fresh Market? Especially now since the world is good and wonderful and they have given us two of them...
p.s. I am extremely excited to have just found your blog. We need this in cinci.
I believe you will find all suburban Kroger stores now carrying sushi - okay except the ultra-urban locations (i.e. those in areas most folks call the hood or ghetto). Oh, except for Clifton - yes, Clifton Kroger ships in sushi from an alternate prep-site. :-)
My two cents, if buying grocery-store made sushi - it'd have to be Wild Oats. My 4 year-old agrees.
Cheers!
