authentic chinese in cincinnati... does it exist?

readers, i need your help. for me, really good chinese food is like crack. and right now i am very deep into a state of withdrawal from my drug of choice. i need good chinese and i need it now!

so far, the best place i have been to in this city is king wok, but i'm kind of bored of it. i need variety. i'm ok with grand oriental, but i have only been there for dim sum, and it is just barely mediocre in terms of my overall lifetime dim sum experiences. i also went to house of sun once and liked it but sharonville is just too damn far. i have been googling, reading blogs, etc., and i have come up with the following places as possibilities:
  • chung ching in north college hill
  • china gourmet in hyde park
  • oriental wok in ft. mitchell
  • blue gibbon in bond hill
  • casual chinese in newport
has anyone been to any of these places? if so, what do you think? do you have any other recommendations?

note: if you recommend shanghai mama's or pf chang's, i will be unable to take you seriously. also, i think first wok is boring as hell... half of their dishes revolve around celery. bleah.

Casual Chinese in Newport is not worth your time. If you are going to try a Chinese restaurant in Newport, give Hong Kong Buffet in the Newport shopping center a try. Don't bother with the buffet and order from the menu. It's pretty good.

Also check out Oriental Wok in Cold Spring. It is a little pricier than most but well worth it. Plus they have an authentic Chinese menu to order from.

Most of these are not authentic, try sichaun bistro in Mason...
