i am sick. i am telling you that not so you feel sorry for me (but feel free if you want to) but rather so that the rest of this post makes a little more sense. i woke up this morning at like 5:30 to the feeling that my bed was shaking. i mean like a huge strong person was shaking my bed. my first thought was "someone broke in and is currently shaking my bed." my second thought was "oh my god i have a ghost after all and it is shaking my bed."
i decided to do what any sane person would and laid there without moving to fool the burglar/ghost into thinking that i was asleep so it would sneak out and leave me alone. meanwhile i realized i was sweaty and gross and feverish, and then i began wondering if i was hallucinating. the shaking went on and on, but it got less and less strong.
i then text messaged a bunch of friends who live within a few miles of me and it turns out they felt it too. just now i did some googling and it turns out that we did have an earthquake after all.
what the hell! the only time in my life i have ever felt an earthquake before is when i lived in costa rica. now that is a place where you might expect an earthquake every now and then. but cincinnati? it's crazy.
ok, all this typing has tired me out. i have to go lay on my couch and moan now. after that i am going to gather supplies in the basement in case we get hit by a tsunami.

I think in going with the tsunami comment you should have some sushi today...I just found your blog today and spent an hour at work reading it! I love it! Definitely book marking it.....
Hope you feel better soon!
Aw, poor Liz! Feel better!
thanks for the good wishes everyone!
liz, i hope you're feeling better. I didn't feel it at all or didn't wake up from the shaking. I am surprised we felt it all the way over here.
If you or cintwin1 wants to have sushi anytime soon, holler. :)
I'm sorry that you are sick! I can't believe you guys had an earthquake. It was a big one too! Just a couple of days after they told us that we are supposed to have a big one in the next 30 years.....I move to California and Cincinnati gets an earthquake. Who would have thought!
I am seriously amazed that it was felt as far and wide as it was though. I'm glad it wasn't a ghost :o)
I would love to pick up some sushi sometime Liberal Foodie. My hubby doesn't eat it, so I always try to go to Thai restaurants that have sushi AND something he will order.
So far my favorite sushi is The Green Papaya.....any other favorites?
sushi: i am up for it. probably not this week, my stomach is still recovering. maybe next week? i also like green papaya a lot. dancing wasabi (in mt. lookout sq) is good too, and they are having specials right now (i think wed = half off all sushi).
earthquakes: yeah it is crazy. i have no idea what the deal is w/ that. i am also glad it was not a ghost, i would have shit my pants!
Jo Ann by the airport has some of the best sushi.
I've heard Teak has good sushi, I haven't tried it. I usually go there for thai food.
Recently we tried Dancing Wasabi's and really liked it.
I didn't like Green Papaya, maybe it was the curry dish I had.
