bronte bistro

i have to blog about this really quick because vuka is about to come pick me up to get me out of my own personal hell of laying around and moaning and i haven't showered yet. we are going to the gap/banana republic outlet in nky. i haven't been and have no idea where this is, sorry. maybe when i get back i can answer questions on that.

anyway the point is that it is way past time for me to sing the praises of bronte bistro at joseph beth bookstore. they do brunch too! i have been 3 or 4 times now and it is always good. now the brunch is only on sundays, when they also do an omelette bar. other days breakfast stops at 11 but you can get their quiche of the day all day which is always yummy. but they have a full menu all day, and they also do special tasting dinners and cooking classes, usually based on different chefs or cookbooks i think.

they have a full coffee bar and a lot of interesting food selections, with specials each month based on recipes from popular cookbooks. everything is always really tasty - they really do their research on the recipes. the prices are good, the atmosphere is relaxed, the service is friendly, and there are always some cute nerdy boys there enjoying coffee and the NY times that you can stare at. plus there is never a wait (unlike first watch down the street).

here are a couple photos from when rickell and i went a few months ago:

the omelette bar gets you an omelette with whatever you want inside, "paula deen" hash brown casserole, a biscuit, and fruit salad. i could not eat all this but it was delicious.

i love this place and it is always a great standby for brunch, or any other meal really, but i especially like going there on long lazy sunday mornings/afternoons with the paper or a fun new book or magazine that i just found in the bookstore.

I agree, bronte serves the best brunch in town. And if you have time after dinner sometime or on any day, try their desserts, those are good too.

you'd never been to the outlet? what did you think? I like it but I've never walked out with a whole new wardrobe, though that would be nice. someone in the bookclub luckly finds all kinds of clothes there.

yummy, i really want to try their coconut cream pie!

the outlet was not that exciting. everything had holes or stains. i did get a super cute pair of sneakers from this crazy section of random non-gap shoes in the back.
