yo quiero brunch

ok, so i spend a lot of time thinking about brunch. like just now i was thinking to myself "i should try to get to lavomatic for brunch this weekend." it's monday night, so that's totally ridiculous. however, i make no excuses because brunch has my heart (and stomach). it is my favorite meal.

if you are like me and lusting for more more more brunch here in cincinnati, let me direct you to my friend emily's brunch reviews. i did an emily brunch blog shout out a while back, but i think it's time again. so here they are. emily moved to LA back in august, so she doesn't write about local places anymore, but just scroll down a while and you will find reviews of otto's, honey, orchid's at palm court, vinyl (RIP), first watch, coffee emporium, greenup cafe, the echo, and mokka.

i accompanied emily on almost all of these brunchcapades so i can personally vouch for her brunch rating abilities. moving here from NYC, i was lost when i arrived. what was this place that seemed to have no real brunch culture? and why no saturday brunches??? emily alone understood my desperate state and together we embarked on a quest. these posts are the result.

here is emily back in march, directing my west coast brunch education (FYI, chicken and waffles : LA :: eggs benedict : NY)

enjoy! and thanks emily... the cincinnati brunch scene is just not the same without you!

Tell Emily I like her shirt! I think I saw one like it at Park+Vine. They also have one there that says "Downtown West Chester Scares Me"! Hilarious. I like your obsession with brunch. Have you every been to a restaurant on Kellogg in Columbia-Tusculum that is a flea market that serves breakfast on the weekends? It may just be a greasy spoon, but I hear it some good country cooking.

I love her shirt. It looks a lot like the DC Metro map. Then again, I haven't seen any other cities' metro maps, except NYC.

and let's go to Cin Twin's suggestion place. i am craving some good ol' country cooking.

Let me do my "research" aka remember who told me about hte place and see if I can find the name...

Kellogg Country Kitchen is the place I think AND it is an antique mall NOT a flea market...oops!

I think it is not considered brunch but more breakfast. You might have to define those for me! LF and I don't know each other except from the local foodie blogs. Does that count? :) Now Liz, you have met me before....I am a friend of Tom and Linnae's. We went to a red's game one time and had pizza at my condo before hand...

I am getting ready for the Flying Pig marathon so I run saturday morning, but by all means I can always devour the pictures if you go this weekend!

OHHHH i know who you are! that is so funny! well welcome to my blog. :)

i think we should all try to do brunch so if you are running this weekend, let's do it another time. when is the flying pig?

no I don't know cintwin, personally. But she visits my blog and from her comments and things, it feels like we know each other. funny how the blogosphere does that to people.

we can do lunch/brunch another time when everyone's available
