salsa = roasted and very tasty. the guacamole had crack in it. the margaritas were good but not strong enough (or maybe they were... i was driving). krishna and i ordered the chicken enchiladas which were very yummy with tomatillo salsa and lemon sour cream. the rice was flavorful but dry and the black beans were blah (i added lime and hot sauce to spice them up a little). avani and yagnesh both got jamaican jerk chicken fajitas which came with interesting veggies and a sweet-ish sauce. they liked it. the service was friendly, fast, and accomodating. i do think it is kind of overpriced for what you get. i mean $16 for fajitas? it's just some meat and tortillas.
we got to sit outside so that was nice. the thing that cracks me up about blue ash is that it is like super suburbia. we are sitting there on the patio among the office buildings and strip malls. and there was some nutty outdoor concert which seemed to have attracted the whole neighborhood, most of whom drove over in their SUVs with their dogs and kids. then they all went to get ice cream and went home to their subdivisions.
actually this is kind of stereotypical suburban life week for me. on monday i left work early and got my nails done for no other reason than i felt like it. i have never done that before. then i went to the mall and then target. last night was golf class and dinner in blue ash. tonight: who knows... maybe dinner at applebee's followed by a PTA meeting? or i could just stay in and manage my stock portfolio. now all i need is a flat screen and a riding mower and i'll be living the american dream!

heehee. your blog never fails to amuse me. i grew up in blue ash so i'm always amused to hear other people's thoughts on it. i could tell you some interesting stories about it. although i haven't lived there since 1996. it's pretty much the same, though. where is cactus pear?
and if you think that blue ash is super suburbia, i gather you haven't spent much time in mason.
:)
i still want you to come visit me in lebanon but we don't have any particularly good restaurants to lure you.
You crack me up!
She's baaaaccckkkk! :)
OK, first of all, who the hell put a Cactus Pear in Blue Ash? That's annoying. Secondly, I still dream about their salsa. That sh*t is amazing. I have found that Trader Joe's roasted tomato salsa is similar, if not the same, if you can find it, and is equally addicting....a couple weeks ago at Katie's grad party, they had a giant bowl of it, and I almost set up a camp in front of it.
PS. I still can't believe you're taking golf class. Hee-larious.
Can you update us more frequently when you shit? I mean, maybe an entry after each and every dump might be a little much, but a noontime brief plus a ~9pm followup I think would (I think) do nicely.
There's nothing I like more when reading a food blog than to hear about one's excretions
:-)
re: shit, i love talking about my bowels and would be happy to post more often on the topic!
re: golf, i know, it is hilarious!
I had no idea there was so much fiber in an enchilada. Must be the new hay tortillas I've heard about.
You're a golfer?
Excuse me while I have a mild stroke. That is the funniest thing ever.
But you won't really be living the American Dream unless you buy your clothes at Ann Taylor Loft.
hahahahaha. golf class = a new thing. i am doing it w/ a couple of my friends.
ann taylor loft: i actually have purchased clothes there.
