i never do this because i feel like there are so many fascinating, well written, informative blogs out there that it's really not even worth my time to try to point them all out, and anyway anyone who is interested in knowing what blogs i like can just check out the links to the right.
however, i have recently become completely obsessed with queen city discovery, to the point that i just have to share it with you guys (although most of you probably already read it). it's written by ronny salerno, aka "gordon bombay" as he calls himself on the blog. i have never met ronny but i have met his partner in discovery, sherman cahal, really briefly, and he seemed like a nice dude.
i am not trying to sell you on their personalities though so what i really want to tell you is that ronny's blog kicks ass. basically he goes around to random, unheard of places in cincinnati (he's really into the never-used subway line for example, and abandoned buildings), takes amazing photos, does great research, and then posts on his blog about it.
this post about an abandoned apartment building in price hill is both captivating and creepy, as are the photos which i cannot stop staring at. i also love this post about the now almost empty forest fair mall, and reading about ronny getting kicked out for taking pictures totally freaked me out.
ronny loves cincinnati and he has a unique perspective, an awesome photographic eye, and a clear and informative writing style. his research is totally interesting and thorough and i have learned so much about this city from reading his blog. i highly recommend that you all check it out.
