non-food blogs giving you the skinny on local grocery stores

i love grocery stores and one of my favorite things to do when i travel is check them out. i am really into seeing what kind of weird yogurts or chips or whatever are sold in various places. because i am such a grocery store nerd i got really excited that a couple local non-food blogs have been hitting up and writing about grocery stores around town.

first up is alex over at the new kid in town, who recently blogged about his first trip to jungle jim's. i haven't been there in forever and reading the post totally made me want to head out there again. the problem of course is that it takes me like four hours to get through the store and by the end of it i am too exhausted to drive home. but that is the price of unparalleled grocery store awesomeness. alex actually writes about food a lot... he has had posts recently on taste of cincinnati and findlay market. i think he should consider food blogging full time. you can never have too many food bloggers.

the other blogger highlighting a grocery store recently was jenny of recycled bin, who wrote a fun and fascinating tutorial on how to shop at aldi. i have heard a lot about aldi but have never been, and her post takes a lot of the mystery out of it for hesitant shoppers. as luck would have it, i just met jenny the other night and she has promised to take me on a personal tour of aldi in a few weeks. i am very excited!
