hello, 2010. goodbye... 2007?

2007 is the year anthony bourdain focuses on in this op-ed in the nytimes. according to him, it was the year food really took off as a hobby and as a subject of pop culture fascination. it was also the year that i really started blogging for real. "Blogs about food became more important. Few writers of books, magazines or newspaper columns could compete with, say, a lonely, Vietnam-based food nerd who’d spent the last 10 years eating at every food stall in Ho Chi Minh City, exhaustively documenting every mouthful." this cincinnati-based food nerd agrees.

here's to much more good food reading in years to come. not that i am really carrying my weight on that one lately... oh well. happy new year!

Hey Liz, I enjoy reading your blog.
Just wanted to let you know about a new Middle Eastern Joint, Baba's Shwarma Grill that recently opened on the west side of town in Cheviot on Harrison Ave. They have great Middle Eastern Cuisine,ie. kebabs, felafel, gyro and AWSOME Hummus!
Check it out and do a post on the place.
Keep up the great work!!
